Brush Your Teeth: Selecting the Best Toothbrush

With so many choices available, it can be difficult to know which toothbrush is the best. From electric to manual, to soft, medium, and hard bristles, choosing a brush can be more time-consuming than actually brushing your teeth these days. Here are some important tips to keep in mind when selecting a toothbrush. (2)
  • Electric Isn’t the Only Way to Brush: While an electric toothbrush might make it easier for some to brush your teeth, according to the American Dental Association, a manual toothbrush can do the trick as well. (3) It’s all about how you use it. Regardless of which kind you choose to brush your teeth, make sure you get all tooth surfaces.
  • It’s All About the Bristle: Select a brush that has bristles of varying heights. This will allow you to get all the hard-to-reach areas when you brush your teeth.
  • Keep It Soft: While you can choose soft, medium, or hard bristle toothbrushes, most dentists will recommend a soft bristle model when you brush your teeth. This makes it easier to clean between teeth.
